Sales Account Executive - DZone Jobs

DZone makes software and content to help professional software developers connect, collaborate, and learn. Our website,, is one of the web's largest communities for experienced software developers, with over 1 million registered members. 

DZone Jobs is DZone's latest addition to our product offering, aimed at connecting experienced software developers with great opportunities. We are in the early stages of building our team to grow this venture and looking for eager and motivated people to help us scale.

As a sales executive for DZone Jobs, you will be integral in powering up our sales effort by developing initial relationships and crafting sales strategy to attract and engage employers to our new service.  You will work hand in hand with the marketing team to create campaigns and outreach strategies, build a pipeline of recruiting companies, and sell our portfolio of job listing and recruitment products.

Here’s what you will be expected to do:

  • Prospect to build a pipeline of recruitment professionals and hiring employers
  • Conduct outreach to convert interest in our product offering
  • Build strong relationships with our customers
  • Renew and upsell paying employers into our broad set of recruiting products
  • Work closely with your marketing counterpart to dream up and execute campaigns
  • Experiment, refine, and codify sales tactics
  • Help to craft and evolve our sales strategy to scale and achieve growth

Here’s what we are looking for:

  • BA or BS with 2+ years B2B sales experience
  • Demonstrated understanding of sales planning and pipeline management
  • Proven track record of meeting and/or exceeding your goals and quotas
  • Excellent writing and oral communication skills - strong phone skills
  • Entrepreneurial, competitive spirit

You’ll really catch our eye if you have any of the following:

  • Experience in the recruitment industry or tech industry. Extra bonus points for experience selling to tech recruiters!
  • An interest in high technology and software development
  • Formal sales training
  • Salesforce experience (or similar CRM)
